The men’s group at South Point
Baptist Church is called Point
Men Ministries. The name
derives from a military term
referring to warriors who enter a
war zone first to scope out the
danger and lead those who
come behind. The scripture tells us that the man is to be the
leader of the household forsaking and sacrificing himself in
loving service to his family, just as Christ did for all of us.
Our mission is to become more like Jesus through various
means so that we can be the best possible leaders in our
homes, our communities, our church.
We have a group of men brave enough to be real, humble enough to share our struggles and weaknesses and who have a deep love for the Lord. We share mutual commitments of support to each other and a common desire to grow in our knowledge of God’s truth and in our own personalities. These facts along with the powerful divine tool of prayer and the presence of the Holy Spirit continues to bind us closer and closer together as a support system for the eminent trials of life and for supplying the great need of male camaraderie. Men, come check it out, become a fellow Point Man.
